The KM and Communications Expert reports directly to the Chief of Party and will oversee and manage the day-to-day KM and communications unit of TCI hub in the Philippines. Together with the Chief of Party and the core/technical team, he/she ensures that required KM/comms deliverables meet project objectives through oversight in the implementation of communication activities in the target project areas. The position also assists in compliance management in terms of inclusion of KM/comms in the work plan of TCI staff, ensuring quality knowledge management, and diffusion of project’s knowledge and lessons learned to internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions

  • Has bachelor’s degree in communications, development communications or related fields, preferably with master’s degree
  • With at least 5 years of relevant work experience in development communications and knowledge management and strong understanding of local and international health programming specifically Family Planning (FP) and Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH)
  • Has strong communication skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and is able to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner to various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge management expertise: An understanding of knowledge management principles and best practices, including the ability to analyze, organize, store, and distribute knowledge effectively.
  • Technical proficiency: should be comfortable using technology and various software tools used in knowledge management and communication, such as intranets, databases, content management systems, and collaboration platforms.
  • Information gathering and analysis: ability to source, gather, and analyze information to include assessing the validity and reliability of data and information, and identifying trends and patterns.
  • Collaboration and teamwork: Collaboration skills are necessary for working with employees and teams across an organization to create, organize, and disseminate knowledge. This involves coordinating and facilitating collaboration efforts and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
  • Change management: As organizations evolve, a KM and communication expert should be capable of managing change effectively. This includes assessing the impact of change, developing and implementing communication strategies to support change initiatives, and addressing resistance.
  • Interpersonal skills: Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders is critical and should have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, empathize, negotiate, and influence others.
  • Analytical thinking: should possess strong analytical skills to identify problems, evaluate information, and propose effective solutions including the ability to think critically, make sound judgments, and apply logical reasoning.
  • Continuous learning mindset: Knowledge management is an ever-evolving field, and a KM and communication expert should have a keenness to continuously learn and upgrade their skills including staying updated with new local and international trends.
  • Familiar with ZFF’s leadership and governance program, and Health Change Model with significant experience with local governments
