Research and Policy Influencing Manager, ZFF Institute

The Manager will:

  • Lead the identification of knowledge gaps and the design (or co-design) of institutional and collaborative research initiatives to inform and promote ZFF’s work in Local Health System strengthening, Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition, and Adolescent and Sexual Reproductive Health.
  • Develop and update the institutional research agenda, research manual, and related processes to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Establish and convene a Research Review Team composed of experts and partner institutions to guide the quality, publication, and dissemination of institutional research outputs.
  • Provide technical assistance and oversight across the full research lifecycle—from design to dissemination—across ZFF’s program units.
  • Produce evidence-based analyses and develops policy and advocacy materials (e.g., policy briefs, papers, talking points, and reports) to shape ZFF’s policy positions and influence public health policies.
  • Organize and facilitate research dissemination and policy advocacy initiatives to promote learning and policy engagement across partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of relevant experience in research and policy advocacy, including work involving public sector engagement.
  • Advanced degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in research design and implementation, using a range of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method approaches, supported by a strong research portfolio.
  • Strong project and partnership management skills, with experience coordinating multi-stakeholder or multi-institutional research and advocacy initiatives.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce academic-standard research outputs and policy materials.
  • Exceptional oral communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging diverse audiences and policy stakeholders.
  • Advanced analytical capability in both quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Proficient in research and analysis software tools, such as Stata, R, NVivo, and Atlas.ti.
